Hello! Here's the web-site dedicated (finally) to the detail for Mandy's Party. Yes, it's only a few days away and this is your guide to the whole thing!
Firstly, sorry for the confusion that may have arisen during the plotting of this scheme! Let's face it, like you I never imagined Mandy to get so organised and try to organise friends I hadn't thought of, or rooms in random Manchester hotels! Anyway, it all seems to be working so far, so fingers crossed.
Anyway, let's get on with it. The party is going to be on the 3rd May 2003. I'm taking Mandy away from the night of the 30th April - we're going to the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley which I've been told is a wonderful location - can't wait! The surprise for her is that we will be leaving our hotel on the 3rd (early in the morning) to London. I'll tell Mand that we're going there for a show or something (even if it comes down to spending the "Lush" vouchers I've got her!) and, via Steve and Karen's house, we'll get there...! So - the plan is this:
1) We're going to leave South Wales at about 8:30-9:00am to get to Steve and Karen's house at about 12:00ish...
2) Steve and Karen are going to feed us - I've arranged this with them, and it should lead to the disbelief that we'll see them later!!
3) We're going to be away from Steve's at about 13:00. This should give us plenty of time to get from there to the hotel and on to the next location!
4) We're leaving our car at Steve and Karen's house and getting the tube to the hotel (we're in the same hotel as everyone else) We'll check in around 14:00...
5) Once we're sorted at the hotel, we'll go out. If we're early, then I'll take Mand to Covent Garden - if not, then we'll go to St Paul's...
6) We'll come across the Millennium bridge from St Paul's over to the Tate Modern where (all fingers crossed) you'll all be with bottles of champagne!!
7) I'm hoping that we'll be there at around 15:30...
8) Once we're there, we'll stay there until everyone arrives.
9) If it's pissing down, then we'll meet 'under' the Tate Modern by the entrance and then move swiftly on to another pub - if some people aren't there by then, we'll text to let them know.
Once she's seen everyone, then the whole thing is set, and the rough plan is:
1) Get drunk
2) Go to other pubs
3) End up at the Tattershall Castle (boat pub opposite the London Eye)
4) Meal at Pizza Express at 20:30 (still to be confirmed, but should be fine!!)
We'll have names (if not locations) of clubs in case we need somewhere after the Pizza place. The next day we'll play by ear...
So that's the plan.. Hope that it's OK with everyone who's joining us - I'm very excited! I thought, as a final touch that I'd put together a quick rogues gallery in case you don't know who's who... I've included mobile phone numbers too... Katie has volunteered(?!) to coordinate things whilst I'm entertaining Mand, so please contact her if you need further details on the day... I don't know what coverage I'll get on the mobile when in Wales...?!!

What to wear: I'll be in Jeans, trainers and a shirt which should do for the kind of club/late bar we'll be looking for later...
What to eat: Eat before you get to the Tate Modern. There are no planned eat-stops before 20:30, although it doesn't mean we can't...!
Who to contact: Katie or Steve before 15:30, me after that...
What to bring: As little as possible - you'll have to lug it around all day (and into the evening)...
